Perl programming summer course for Faculty and Post Docs The MSU Inst. for Digital Biology and the MSU Life Sciences and Biotechnology Institute will co-host an intensive Residential Perl programming course over two periods. Part 1 is June 13-15 inclusive and part two is Aug 13-15 inclusive. This will be held on the MSU campus at the Life Sciences and Biotechnology Institute. This two part course is designed to take you from a neophyte PERL programmer to beginning to use BIO-PERL and will be taught by an external consultant who has done these courses for the likes of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (http://www.llnl.gov/) and the Jackson Laboratory (http://www.jax.org/). We have 12 places on this course and these are initially restricted to faculty at JSU, MSU, and USM on a first come first served basis. We will give priority to faculty first and then post docs because students (and post-docs to a much lesser extent) are able to take traditional courses offered at their home institutions. The registration cost is $500.00. You will need to provide your own accommodation and dinners. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided. We will endeavor to secure on site accommodation in MSU facilities to minimize the cost. You will get most from this course if you use your own laptop computer (or other PC) because it will be configured during the course and you can take it away with you. Please register by March 25th by
